MPPT solar controllers maximise the charging current to batteries by changing their power output to match the output of the solar panel. MPPT controllers therefore outperform conventional PWM solar controllers in terms of efficiency and actual charging current to a battery bank or power to a load making them the preferred solar controller type.
MPPT controllers also have a wide solar input voltage range allowing the use of series and parallel configuration to maximise solar input and so providing flexibility in choice of the solar panel type used. This MPPT controller can accept input voltage up to 150V. The maximum combined input solar power allowed for this controller is 260W for a 12V battery system or 520W for a 24V system.
In particular, the 20A MPPT controller will significantly increase efficiency of a solar array or system system where the solar panel voltage is much higher than the battery voltage (e.g. charging a 12V battery with a 36V solar panel).
This controller also features advanced communication technology, which offers the user the opportunity to monitor and program parameters for the solar charge controller and load settings using either the MT50 remote display, optional wifi module (via android app) or even via RS485 to USB via PC/laptop and solar controller software (call for details)
