This simple device allows the charging of two separate battery banks from a single charging source such as vehicle alternator with no risk of flattening your battery bank.
By sensing the main battery voltage, the VSR (voltage sensitive relay) will only connect the secondary bank to the source when the first bank is fully charged and is 13.7V or over and will cut out if the main bank falls below 12.8V. This ensures thats secondary bank can never drain the main bank.
Dual sense allows the unit to sense the voltage of both batteries that it is connected between. If either battery is receiving a charge the VSR will activate. This allows the charging of the second battery from an external battery charger or second charging source.
The VSR can handle charging currents up to 140A with zero voltage drop, no moving parts and encapsulated design makes it suitable for marine applications as well as split charging systems in vehicles.

Easy to install and works fine.

Bought 2 off as Caravan Technology price is cheaper than most other VSR's that boast 140A current capability. However, the 140A is a little misleading as the operating current is actually 120A continuous but can supposedly handle 140A intermittently (& if you think you may pull 120A+ from a 'good' battery to a deeply discharged battery i would recommend using proper multistrand battery cable of at least 70mm sq (dependant on length of cable run) to avoid volt drops. in the cable at these high currents, which may confuse the voltage-sensing electronics).

Excellent product, no more faffing about trying to find the trigger wire as on the old style relays. This one is dead simple, three wires-Power in-Power out,and Earth. Fitted one to my transit van so I could charge a second battery in the back to run an inverter. Been using it for about a month now, it works a treat.

Bought this to for my Son's 'Transit conversion' to keep the leisure battery topped up. This little box automatically connects the van and leisure battery together as soon as the engine is running and alternator voltage reaches 13.7 volt and it works a treat. No more switches and strange wires disappearing behind the Dash board, just the two battery positive wires and one small negative wire to connect. I would recommend this little box to anyone and at the Caravan & Leisure Technology price you can't go wrong.
