The Challenge

To provide an off-grid lighting system for a new glamping structure.

Our Solution

Our client approached us wanting to add a solar based lighting system for their beautiful new glamping structure- the Lindhay. The Lindhay is a tiny and cosy open plan barn conversion with shower room and mezzanine sleeping platform.

Having met us at the Glamping Show in 2017 they initially wanted to use a couple of our larger powerpacks (the 300+) with attached solar panel and swap out the powerpacks between guests if the solar was underperforming- during cloudy periods and throughout winter.

Our engineer Dave asked for details of the lights, so he could calculate the daily usage he also looked at the feasibility of a good solar input and it was ascertained that a powerpack wouldn’t necessarily be the most efficient option for the Lindhay and they could have a 12v solar system that would keep the costs down.

What Caroline from the Lindhay said about us: “We discussed our requirement at length with Dave who was extremely helpful and explained things without getting overly techie. He was very helpful, responsive and approachable. The team were extremely knowledgeable and good at meeting our brief.

We will definitely use PPT again, we have planning for a further cabin so will be in touch once we’ve had a rest following the completion of the Lindhay build!

We love a happy customer!
